Where do I control RecallMode?
Use the side panel as the main study companion, the popup for quick controls, and the dashboard for timing, audio, history, privacy, and settings.
Why can’t I see the study countdown?
That is intentional. RecallMode keeps the next study break hidden until it is due to reduce clock-watching.
Does the break-due cue mean I must stop immediately?
No. Finish the current sentence, question, problem, concept, or other logical unit, then explicitly start the break.
Where can I see the installed version?
Open chrome://extensions, enable Developer mode if needed, and locate RecallMode. The current release candidate is version 1.0.1.
Audio troubleshooting
- Confirm Chrome and your system output are not muted.
- Open RecallMode Dashboard → Audio and use Preview on the selected sound.
- Silence is the recommended default, so no continuous study audio may be expected.
- Calm music is bundled inside the extension; it does not require an internet connection.
- Experimental 432 Hz, 528 Hz, and soft 40 Hz modulation are optional sound environments and are not medical or therapeutic features.
After laptop sleep or wake
RecallMode includes recovery logic for Chrome and operating-system sleep/wake behavior. If audio becomes stuck or a session appears out of sync after an unusual suspend/resume event, end the session and begin a new one. If it repeats, send the Chrome version, operating system, RecallMode version, and the steps that reproduce it.
Privacy questions
RecallMode does not need access to the page you are studying. It has no host permissions, no content scripts, no browsing-history access, no account, and no external study-data server in version 1.0.1. See the full privacy policy.
